My parents started taking me backpacking when I was a baby. Their indoctrination must have worked, because to this day I still love backpacking and try to get in regular trips. As a child, I backpacked with my family in the Pacific Northwest, when we moved to Virginia, we all got acquainted with the Appalachians, and when I later moved to California I fell in love with the magnificent Sierra Nevada!
