Stanford, CA • 2015
Stanford University's Meyer Library was a central, if visually unappealing campus landmark for several decades, until it was demolished in 2015 due to the prohibitive cost of renovations to bring it in line with modern earthquake safety code. Today, the place where the library once stood has been transformed into an open, grassy area appropriately called Meyer Green (as a bonus, it's right next to another library - called Green), and you can tell when someone was at Stanford based on what they think of when they hear the name "Meyer."
